The NSW First Home Owner Grant is a one-time payment from the NSW government for eligible first home buyers purchasing or building a new residential property. As of 2026, the grant amount is $10,000 for new homes across NSW.
Note: The FHOG applies to NEW homes only. If you're buying an established property, you won't receive the grant โ but you may be eligible for stamp duty concessions.

When claimed through your lender, the grant is typically applied at settlement. When claimed directly through Revenue NSW, it can take 5โ14 business days after assessment.
